Hokkaido Exploration-Asahikawa June 2014 Part 1

Finally reached New Chitose Airport after 11 hours flight! Shack....

Waiting for the car rental staff from Orix to fetch us to our vehicle.

After collecting our car, we immediately headed to Farm Tomita which was on the way to our hotel.

Dropped by to take a glimpse of what Japan's supermarkets are like and to get some snacks  :P

Yummy !!!

Reached Farm Tomita! It's June but lavender has yet to bloom fully TT_TT

A lot of flowers still yet to bloom! Perhaps August?

ICE-CREAM !!!

Tried the lavender/melon flavors, melon was nice but lavender tasted more like air freshener to me :X

Decided to come back again the next day as we wanted to see the blue pond and to check-in our hotel before 1600 hours.

Here we are at the Blue Pond

A bit of walking was required

Not much to see in Blue Pond

Off to our hotel

Our hotel - Taisetsuzan Shiroganekanko Hotel

After checked in, we went to try out the Onsen (hot spring pool).  It's so different from Taiwan whereby you have to be totally undress and the small towel you bring along is meant for you to scrub yourself before entering the pool. Be mentally prepared.  No camera allowed thus no photo lol

Our tatami room, it's both the seating area as well as sleeping area  :)

Scenery outside our hotel

My younger sister

Back to our hotel for dinner  :P

Yeah!!! Sashimi....

Hokkaido Scallop - Bigger size than a 50 cents coin

This share is for 1 person

Our side dishes...

I'm going to put on weights after this meal............

The hotel staff must have came to prepare our bed (futon) while we were having our dinner in the hotel restaurant.  Good nite...........
